What is the City Tax?
The City Tax is a municipal tax levied by the city of Berlin on paid overnight stays. Since the beginning of 2025, it has amounted to 7.5% of the total rent and is due directly upon payment of the rent and shown on the invoice.
The tax applies to all stays of up to six months, regardless of the purpose of use.
How can the tax be avoided?
The city tax does not apply to rentals of 7 months or more. You also benefit from a reduced rental price for longer rental periods.
